Stand Canopy Closure Estimation in Planted Forests Using a Geometric-Optical Model Based on Remote Sensing

چکیده

Canopy closure, which is the ratio of vertical projection area crowns to forest land, can indicate growth and tending situation a great significance for management planning. In this study, geometric-optical model (GOST model) was used simulate canopy gap fraction forest. Then, closure estimation method using discussed. three typical planted farms (the Mengjiagang (MJG), Gaofeng (GF), Wangyedian (WYD) farms) containing most commonly tree species in north south regions China were selected, field measurements executed. The results show that (Pvg-c) had higher correlation with average projected crowns, relationship an exponential function, R2 RMSE values 0.5619 0.0723, respectively. Finally, applicability accuracy evaluated line transects, fisheye camera measured closure. estimated by Pvg-c 86.69%. This research provide reference model.
